Robyn Gordon [artpropelled]

South African artist Robyn Gordon's wood sculptures and figurative totems have my heart. I think mostly because each of her many pieces are a self contained treasure hunt. Robyn's work says a lot to me about the discoveries to be found in each human being, the little stories/memories/artifacts that collectively make up each person's narrative and self representation to the world. This is what draws me for sure; the depth of concept and meaning in the pieces...but also the level of detail, the technical skill and the handling of scale and proportion. Fantastic work!
