David Christiana (The Tale I told Sacha)

A little girl is sent off on a imaginative journey following a golden ball gifted to her by her mother through a quite indoor afternoon and all the un-noticed corners of her house...

The tale I told Sacha is another great example of beautifully connecting story (Nancy Willard) to illustration (David Christiana) --- it's so full of avenues for imagination.

And the mix of watercolor and pastels is so lovely --- I get lost in the color, textures and the atmosphere of the illustrations each time I open this one up...

"...the strange adventures, shadows hide."
