Autumnal, (such a great word)

Autumnal:
"1: the season between summer and winter comprising in the northern hemisphere usually the months of September, October, and November or as reckoned astronomically extending from the September equinox to the December solstice —called also fall. 2 : a period of maturity or incipient decline "
Merriam -Webster Dictionary

Maybe I love Autumn as a season the most because I was born in the fall? And thus it feels like my season?

I suspect a mix of self identification and that I am a sucker for anything bittersweet/melancholy ("incipient decline") as an explanation for why I love seeing the branches on the trees start to become bare bones for everyone to see... and am all for the smell of the leaves decaying, getting mixed in with everything earth underfoot.
